Privacy and your information
You are about to give a stranger your phone number. Here is what happens to it, in words you should not need a lawyer to read.
Last updated 29 August 2026
This covers the enquiry form on this site and the records we keep for customers of the service.
What we collect
We collect the details you submit in the enquiry form, along with its source page and any campaign tags. The security checks described below also process limited technical information.
Alongside it we record which page you were on, the date and time, and the campaign tags in the web address if you arrived from an advert. That tells us which of our pages is doing any good. It does not tell us anything about you.
We do not ask for a card number, a bank account, an IRD number or a date of birth. You should be wary of anybody who does at this stage of a conversation.
Why we collect it
To ring you back about the enquiry you made, and to set your answering up if you decide to go ahead. That is the whole of it.
You will not be added to a mailing list and you will not get a newsletter. If you tell us you are not interested, that is the end of the correspondence.
Who else sees it
Nobody outside the business that runs this service. We do not sell your details, we do not rent them, we do not swap them, and we do not hand them to anyone else for their own marketing. There is no arrangement of that kind and there is not going to be one.
The only outsiders that touch your details are the ordinary suppliers any business uses to keep the lights on: the company that hosts this site, the system we keep enquiries in, and the service that sends our email. They hold the information on our behalf, under contract, and they may not use it for anything of their own.
If a New Zealand court or the law required us to hand something over, we would have to. Short of that, nobody is getting your phone number from us.
Where it is kept
New Zealand enquiries, and the calls we answer for New Zealand customers, are handled on +64 numbers in New Zealand data centres.
How long we keep it
If you enquire and we do not end up working together, the enquiry is deleted after two years. Two years because trades and small businesses often come back a season or two later, and having to explain yourself from scratch is a nuisance.
If you become a customer, we keep the account and billing records for seven years after you stop, because New Zealand tax law requires it.
You do not have to wait for either of those. Ask, and we delete it now.
Correcting or deleting what we hold
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, and ask us to delete it. All three are free and none of them needs a reason.
Email logins@d3v.nz and say which you want. We confirm within a few working days and act on it within twenty working days, which is the limit the Act sets. If you are not happy with how we handle it, you can take the matter to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
Keeping the form clean
The form uses a security session, a hidden anti-spam field, server-side validation and a limit on repeated submissions. A failed check shows an error; it is not presented as a successful enquiry. The rate limit uses a hashed version of the connecting IP address, held separately from enquiry content.
An essential session cookie protects the contact form. It is not an advertising cookie. Short-lived request counts help limit automated submissions. Campaign tags may be remembered for the browser session and included when you enquire. Google reCAPTCHA protects the enquiry form. It loads when you submit and processes technical browser and network information to assess automated abuse. The form carries a reCAPTCHA notice saying so. Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply to that check.
Your callers, if you become a customer
This part is about your customers rather than you. Calls we answer for you are written up so you can read what was said, and those records belong to your account. We do not sell them, we do not use them to market anything to your callers, and we do not share them with anyone but you and the people you give access to.
Card details are never read out over the phone, so there is no card number in any record we hold.
If this page changes
The date at the top changes with it. If a change actually affects somebody who has already enquired, we tell them rather than quietly editing the page.
Still happy to talk
Now you know what happens to it. Tell us who rings you and why, and we will ring you back.
Optional Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics on this website to understand page visits and confirmed enquiry counts. It is on by default. These sites serve New Zealand and Australia, where analytics of this kind does not require your prior permission, so we do not interrupt you with a banner to ask. You can switch it off at any time. Local previews send no analytics at all.
“Analytics choices” in the footer turns analytics off, and your choice is remembered in this browser for up to 180 days. Turning it off does not affect the contact form or any planning tool, and it stops this integration sending anything further. Essential form-security cookies work separately.
While analytics is on, Google receives limited technical information about the visit. This implementation sends the page path and title, referring website origin and whether an enquiry was confirmed. It does not deliberately send form answers, names, email addresses, telephone numbers or URL query/fragment text. Advertising personalisation and Google signals are disabled.
Google Analytics uses cookies and processes technical information, which may involve systems outside New Zealand or Australia. See Google’s Privacy Policy. Switching analytics off stops future analytics from this integration; it does not erase information already processed.
