Call connected

1 / 3 · The call

01 / The call

You’re busy. They’re answered.

You are with a customer, out on a job or finished for the day. Your existing number diverts to a helpful AI receptionist that greets callers in your business name.

Keep your number. Choose when calls divert.
02 / The conversation

The right details. First time.

A name, a callback number, what needs doing and where. Your answering service asks your questions and checks the details with the caller.

Your urgent-call rules decide who gets put through.
03 / The message

One glance. You’re up to speed.

A clear text and email tell you who rang and why. You can get back to the customer when your hands are free, with the details already in front of you.

Nothing to listen through. Nothing to write out again.

A ringing phone doesn’t need to pull you away from every job. Let the call be answered, then choose your moment to respond.

A virtual front desk, for a business with no front desk

Most New Zealand businesses do not have a reception. There is no counter, no lobby and nobody sitting at it. The work still has to be done, though, and it is the same work it always was.

A virtual front desk answers the phone, takes the caller's details, books a time, says when you are open and puts the ones that matter straight through to you. It is there at 7am and it is there at 9pm, and it costs you nothing on the days nobody rings.

How this works for a one person business

Taking the message is the easy part

Anybody can write a name on a pad. What makes it a service is what happens to the note afterwards.

It reaches your phone first, always. Then it goes into the software you already open every day, so the job is on the record without anyone typing it twice.

Explore all 30 Talkify connections

Connections are provided by Talkify. Capabilities vary by system: Tradify sends enquiries by email, iTrade requests visits, and Calendly sends a booking link.

Into the diary

Book into connected calendars, or text a Calendly booking link. Available actions depend on the calendar you use.

Onto the job list

A card lands in Trello with the address and what needs doing, so it is in the queue before you are back in the van.

Into the customer record

The contact is created or updated in HubSpot or Pipedrive, so nobody has to remember to add them later.

Into the accounts

They exist in Xero or MYOB by the time you go to invoice them, with notifications sent through your chosen workflow.

And more besides, including your own website chat and a leads list you can export. Running something else? Tell us what you use and we will quote the integration work.

Monthly, or pay as you go

A monthly plan

NZ$129 / month

Your first three months, then NZ$199. It includes 200 minutes, 50 texts, up to three agents on the number and three calls at once.

Pay as you go

NZ$10 / month

That keeps your number live. Calls are NZ$1 a minute and texts are 15c each. You start with NZ$10 free credit, then top up as you use it.

How pay as you go works

Both options have no setup fee and no lock-in. Monthly overage is 10c a minute during your first three months, then 20c. All prices are in NZD.

Try it on your own calls

A trial on a demo line tells you nothing. This one runs on your real number, with your real callers, saying your real business name.

You keep your number

You put a divert on it, and you take the divert off whenever you want. Nothing is ported and nothing is transferred.

You hear every call

Every call is written up and kept, so you can read what was said rather than take our word for it.

You are told before it ends

The trial does not roll into a bill you did not agree to. You are told when it is finishing and you choose what happens next, or nothing happens at all.

Questions people ask first

Do I need a new phone number?

No. You keep the number that is already on your van, your website and your invoices. You divert it to us, and you can take the divert off whenever you like.

Is a person answering my phone?

Calls are answered by software that talks. It says so plainly if a caller asks, and it never pretends to be you. It takes messages, books times and puts callers through. It is reception, not advice.

If you would rather read about it from that angle, there is a site that explains how an AI receptionist works in more detail.

How do the messages reach me?

By text and by email, within a minute of the call ending. The caller's number is in the message, so you tap it and ring them back. There is nothing to re-key.

Can it put someone through to me?

Yes. You say which callers matter and when you are willing to be interrupted. Everyone else is written down and sent to you instead, so the phone stops going off in the middle of a job.

Am I locked into a contract?

No. There is no term and no cancellation fee. If you stop, you take the divert off your number and that is the end of it.

How quickly can it start answering?

Your account opens as soon as you enquire. Your answering is set up and trained on your business within 24 hours, and nothing changes on your phone until you put the divert on.

More questions and plainer answers

The bits people check before they hand over their number

No badges, no seals, no logos of companies we have never worked with. Four plain facts you can hold us to.

Answered in New Zealand
New Zealand calls run on +64 numbers and are handled in New Zealand data centres. Nothing is routed offshore for somebody in another time zone.
Your details are not sold
Never sold, rented, swapped or handed to anyone else for their marketing. It is all set out on the privacy page, in plain English.
What it will never do
Give advice, quote a price it was not given, read out a card number, or pretend to be you. Anything of that kind comes to you.
Nothing you cannot undo
You keep your own number, there is no term and no cancellation fee. Take the divert off and it stops that minute.

Get your phone answered

Tell us who is ringing you and why

The more we know about the calls you get, the closer the greeting and the questions are on day one. A sentence is plenty to start.

What happens next
We ring you back on the number you give us, at a time that suits.
How long it takes
Your account opens straight away. Your answering is set up and trained within 24 hours.
What it costs to look
Nothing. There is no card and no obligation at this stage.
For example: new job enquiries during the day, and anything after 5pm.

We use this to get back to you about answering your phone, and nothing else. No newsletter. What we do with these details is set out on the privacy page.
